Third Form Midsummer Night's Dream

Summer Solstice Shakespeare

“I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows, Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine, With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.”

In what is literally a matter of days, we bear witness to the alchemical process that takes place as the entire Third Form cohort is transformed from a group of ‘rude mechanicals’ into an acting troupe capable of not only performing a Shakespeare play in its original form, but entertaining an audience within the inner sanctum of the Headmaster’s garden.

The Headmaster claims Tuesday’s performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream was 'the best' he's seen since we began this rite of summer some four years ago. I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all the boys and to the English Department for the hard work and commitment that went into producing such a wonderful performance within so short a space of time.
