Design & Technology Association Excellence Award

We are delighted to announce that Merchant Taylors' School has been recognised at the annual Design & Technology Association Excellence Awards ceremony as one of the recipients of the 'Special Award Recognising Design and Technology’s Social Impact' for the work the MTS community did to support the NHS and the wider community in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. The award was presented at the annual ceremony held at the IET on 17th September and was a celebration of excellent practice in the Subject of Design & Technology. We would like to thank the countless colleagues and friends contributed time, materials and expertise to help us scale up the production of our PPE work so that we were able to provide such large volumes of PPE equipment to front line workers. We extend our thanks to our industrial partners Amtico and OMT Jonathan Duck who enabled us to ramp up production to reach a grand total of 21,000 face visors which were distributed from our Design Centre and supplied to the partner hub schools we helped set up across the country.
