ESAA Cross Country Cup at Harrow School

The weather did its part last Thursday to make our annual cross country fixture at Harrow appropriately wet, windy and wild: proper cross-country weather. Our runners responded with excellent team spirit, grit and determination.

We took a team of juniors, inters and seniors, running 2.5k, 4.2k and 5k challenging courses. Nothing better represents resilience than setting off in the pouring rain to stamp out a muddy course around playing fields, up hills and over streams. Boys even hurried back, breathless after crossing the finish line, to cheer on their team mates.

We didn't quite do enough to qualify for the next round this time, but we all left with a great sense of mud-splattered pride at three races well run. I hope to see more of the same from across the whole school body on Wednesday 16th October, when the verdant fields of MTS becomes the battleground of House Country Country.
