The Trail to Oxford University

This week saw Oxford University make offers to aspiring pupils for October 2025. We were delighted that of the fourteen students interviewed before Christmas, seven received offers.
These are:
Ciaran D. (Mechanical Engineering – St Hughs)
Anthony P. (Chemistry – St Hilda’s)
Luca M. (English Language and Literature – Trinity)
James B. (History – Lady Margaret Hall)
Giuseppe M. (History – Lincoln)
Jacob R. (Philosophy and Theology – Worcester)
Marcello C. (Philosophy and French – Lincoln)
Given the competition for places, being invited for an interview is a tremendous achievement and only comes after outstanding predicted grades have been secured, brilliant personal statements written and admissions assessments aced. The interviews themselves are a real test of the pupils’ intellectual flexibility, potential and readiness for the course. It is, therefore, much to the credit of those who have secured offers that they were able to do all of this in the dark depths of December.
Hopefully all those extension classes, practice interviews, Academic Supervisions and fiendish essays or problems will seem even more worthwhile now!
Cambridge offers will be made on 30th January. We eagerly await the outcome of these.
