Semi-Final of National Schools' Squash Championship

This week, Merchant Taylors' School played John Hampden School and Reading School in the Semi-Final of the National Schools Squash Championship. It was a day full of intense and thrilling matches.

Unfortunately, MTS came up just short of first place to John Hampden and narrowly missed out on an opportunity to progress to the Championship Final. On the bright side, MTS had a flurry of victories against Reading School.

Nishil M., who played in seed 2, had a very even match against his opponent from Reading and ended up coming back from 7-10 to win the game on a well earned score of 11-10 after a truly breathtaking showdown. We also saw victories from the rest of the team: Rohan A. won a comfortable 11-3 victory against Reading in seed 1, followed by Dominic L. who won remarkably with a score of 11-2, and Neel K. in seed 5 who also won with a comfortable 11-4 margin.

It was also a day to welcome the squad's new debutant, Joshua R., who impressively wrapped up the Reading fixtures with a convincing 11-2 in seed 4.

Overall, a day which showcased the progress the senior team has made in recent years and revealed rich veins of talents amongst our boys. Very well done all.
