Clubs & Societies Highlight: Book Boffz Club

Co-curricular activities welcome likeminded students and staff to nurture passions and indulge interests, forging friendships which span across classes and year groups. Our current provision is extensive, numbering at over one hundred and fifty options, with more growing each year. Each week, we seek to celebrate one of the many clubs and societies that form part of the rich fabric of Merchant Taylors’.

This week we look at Book Boffz Club, a space for creativity, imagination and fun!

Every Friday after lessons, a selection of the school's finest bookworms from the Thirds and Upper Thirds gather in the Library to read, discuss and find new books, and undertake some literary-inspired activities.

In our most recent sessions, pupils had their say in selecting new books to be purchased for Junior Fiction section, and were then given first refusal to borrow them from the library. Other activities this term have included book-themed quizzes; Hemingway-inspired six-word short story writing; and the opportunity for members to create their very own literary hero or villain.

If you are in the Thirds or Upper Thirds and would like to take part, there is no need to sign up: simply come to the Library on a Friday afternoon at 3:45pm (in the upstairs Meetings Room) and be prepared to explore your creative side.
