Consecutive Weekend Success for Rugby Sevens!

Taylors' made it two trophies in two weekends this Sunday just past, winning the Plate at the QEB U16 Sevens tournament, hosted at Habadashers' School.
The boys endured a particularly tough group, with Eton (Cup Semi Finalists) and Hitchin (Cup Final Runners Up) but showed glimpses of what might be possible. In truth, we probably should have beaten Hitchin, but some close calls cost us. That meant we progressed into the Plate tournament as best Third Place team.
With each game, we grew impressively and the boys deserve huge credit for the way they learned and adapted as the day went on. In the Quarter Final, we beat Gresham’s 25-10, before a nail-biting Semi-Final win against Seaford College. Local rivals St Alban’s met us in the final, but the boys were spectacular and scored a 30-10 win.
Captain Blake B was surely one of the best players in the whole tournament, acting as a real difference maker, whilst many others were also superb battling increasing fatigue on a warm day.
The U16s and U18s now look forward to the upcoming Rosslyn Park National School Sevens.
