Berkhamsted Half-Marathon

On Sunday, the Phab team set out to complete the Berkhamsted Half-Marathon, marking the culmination of nine weeks of dedicated training. Since January, the team—comprising of seventeen staff and students—had been preparing with weekly Thursday sessions, building endurance and determination for race day.

With Phab vests on, parents cheering from the sidelines, and the sun shining, the atmosphere was electric. Every team member successfully completed the 13.1-mile race, pushing through fatigue to cross the finish line with a well-earned sense of achievement. Tommy E delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 29th overall with an impressive time of 1:22:23.

Notably, MTS was the only school to enter a half-marathon team, competing against some well-established running clubs. Based on the combined positions of the fastest four members, MTS placed 11th—an impressive result given the level of competition.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the team, both on the day and throughout training. Special thanks to Mr Bruce for his dedication in organising the team and leading the training programme, ensuring everyone was well-prepared for race day.

Your encouragement and generosity contributed to an excellent fundraising result, with final figures set to be announced next week.

Well done to all involved!
