PHAB Christmas Carols & Bag Packing

Just before Christmas we saw the return of a long standing PHAB tradition. Read on to see how much the team raised with their festive busking efforts.

The 23rd of December marked the annual return of an 8-year-long PHAB tradition – bag packing and Christmas carolling
at Waitrose. The boys arrived, adorned with festive hats, reindeer antlers, and a readiness to put on a hearty singing
display for the Rickmansworth locality.

A midday start meant that last-minute shopping was in full swing when we arrived, and there were some concerns about
whether the panicked audience would want their bags packed. Nonetheless, the boys manned their tills and prepared
to act. Between 12 and 4 pm, the PHAB team worked relentlessly, ensuring that bags were packed efficiently and that
eggs were placed at the TOP. We were rewarded by the generosity of customers who donated to our “Phabulous”
singers, braving the cold.

Our resident guitarist, Josh Simpson, fuelled the metaphorical fire with festive chords, and we sang our hearts out. A few
laughs and donations 'towards singing lessons!' later, the bag-packing event proved once again to be a huge success,
and the team raised over £400. A massive thanks to all involved, and a happy new year!
