Classics

  • Classics has a proud tradition at MTS with classicists such as the great Oxford scholar Gilbert Murray having attended the School.
  • All year 7 pupils do Latin and both Ancient Greek and Latin are offered at A level.
  • The department maintains its own archaelogical collection of artefacts in papyri, vases and statues.
  • Boys can attend study trips both in the UK and abroad - with one of the most popular trips to Sicily.
  • There is a specialist group opf teachers and they offer outstanding preparation for Oxbridge entry with boys winning places nearly every year.
