MTS Design Competition 2024

On Monday, 20th May 2024, the historic Merchant Taylors' Great Hall in Liverpool Street was transformed into an inspiring exhibition space for the biennial Merchant Taylors' Design Competition.

This prestigious event saw design students from various schools presenting their creative and innovative projects, showcasing the future of design.

Merchant Taylors' School was well represented by three entries in the senior category, and one in the intermediate category:

Senior Category:

Luca H (U6th)

Shaan F (U6th)

Emre A (U6th)

Intermediate Category:

Samay K (Divs)

The event included an insightful tour of the Merchant Taylors' Great Hall, offering pupils and teachers a chance to delve into the rich history and significant contributions of the Merchant Taylors' Company over the years. This experience not only highlighted the historical importance of the venue, but also underscored the connection between tradition and innovation.

The event concluded with accolades for outstanding designs. Shaan F (U6th) from Merchant Taylors'  School emerged victorious in the senior category with his ingenious design, the "Inflatable Fall Protection Band." In the intermediate category, Samay K (Divs) received the Highly Commended Award for his innovative "Hex Grow" project.

The Merchant Taylors' Design Competition 2024 was not just a platform for showcasing talent, but also a celebration of creativity, innovation, and the timeless spirit of design. Our thanks must be extended to all whom made it possible.
