White Seals the Win at Library House Quiz!

This year’s Library House Quiz saw another new name added to the trophy. In a competition which saw questions on books ranging from The Gruffalo and Heartstopper to Dickens and Norse mythology, White looked to be maintaining their commanding lead. Hilles suffered a temporary technical hitch which meant they needed to switch team name halfway through and when the final scores were added up, both teams had given the same number of correct answers from the 24 asked. However, Kahoot quizzes award additional points for fast answers and White just claimed the victory. The winning team members were A Daryanani (L6th), E Nursiah (4ths) and N West (5ths).

All participants were rewarded with chocolate and a World Book Day book of their choice.

Talking Books in Tutor Time

E Jamal in Third Form gave a fantastic presentation to his tutor group (GCS) on his favourite series of books, The Hunger Games. The class then followed this with a discussion on the benefits of reading a book before watching the film (and vice versa!).

The Book Boffz World Book Day 2024 Collection

This annual selection of titles has now been launched. Members of our Third and Upper Third Form book club bought new books for the Junior Library based on their own reading preferences as well as well as considering what their peers’ might enjoy. They have also been busy creating promotional posters to advertise their favourites.

Pupils can see all the books chosen using Accessit Quick Lists and reserve titles to borrow if they wish.
