Fourths Author Visit with Taran Matharu
New York Times bestselling author Taran Matharu joined the Fourth Form on Wednesday to celebrate Reading Week and World Book Day.
Taran delved into the fascinating world of his Summoner series exploring how he drew inspiration from books, films and games as well as his own personal experiences. He went on to give invaluable writing tips for any budding authors and explained his own path to becoming published.
Starting out on Wattpad, Taran published chapters regularly, quickly gathering followers and interactions which gained the attention of multiple publishers and agents leading to the hugely successful deal. His work has taken him across the world, being published in seventeen languages.
Hopefully his success and passion for writing has inspired some of our students to explore writing and the many different pathways to being published.
